Seagulls held at Town

From Nyewood Lane
Weston dominated from start to finish at Nyewood Lane, extending their unbeaten run to three games.
However, with home keeper Chris Tardiff in inspired form, coupled with a second-half goal from Jordan Hughes, the Seagulls failed to claim the three points that were a realistic target against a side rooted to the foot of the table.
From the side that won at Basingstoke on Tuesday evening, Ryan Paddock replaced injured captain Charlie Comyn-Platt, with Michael Green taking the captain's armband, while Marvin Brown replaced the in-form Ryan Havard, who dropped to the bench.
Assistant manager Andrew Gurney took the place vacated by Paddock on the bench and Ben Willshire filled the hole created by the absence of flu victim Mark McKeever.
Manager Tony Ricketts was absent due to the flu, so Gurney took up the managerial reigns.
Weston camped in the Bognor half for the opening 45 minutes, forcing five corners, and were unfortunate not to be more than one goal to the good at the interval.
Tardiff pulled off a magnificent full-length save to keep out a Marc McGregor header on 13 minutes and Ludovic Quistin saw a 25-yard free-kick go agonisingly wide.
Darren Mullings went close from a Brown knock-down on 42 minutes, but it was not until stoppage time in the opening period that the seemingly inevitable goal came.
A disguised back-heel from McGregor set Brown free and he held off his man before netting a neat finish.
The Rocks came more into the game after half-time, with Tom Clark twice going close and substitute Michael McEnery forcing a good save from the consistent Ryan Northmore.
On 58 minutes, Harrison Clark collected a cross-field ball from Duncan Jupp and dragged his shot agonisingly wide.
However, 14 minutes later the home side snatched a share of the spoils when Hughes, on loan from Portsmouth, beat Northmore from an acute angle.
Investigation
The FA is looking into the incident which marred Weston's victory at Basingstoke last Tuesday.
"There is an investigation under way with no set time frame, but I can't say anything more than that at the moment," said FA press officer Matt Phillips.
Grubb on the move
Weston's Dean Grubb has been placed on the transfer list following what stand-in club secretary Keith Refault described as "a breach of the club's code of conduct".
Refault said: "The decision was regrettable, but Dean failed to make the coach to Braintree last Saturday and didn't inform anybody that he wouldn't be attending."
